Fatty acids are acids produced when fats are broken down. Fatty acids are considered to be a healthy fat. They are not highly soluble in water, and they are used by your body to provide energy to most types of cells. These acids are organic and contain carbon and hydrogen molecules. 

Essential fatty acids can be found in oils and other fats that make up different foods. They are an important part of a healthy diet, because the body needs them for several purposes. Fatty acids increase the flow of oxygen through the bloodstream to all parts of the body. Fatty acids are essential to our bodies for strong organs and tissue.

There are many benefits of essential fatty acids. These include healthy looking skin, help to prevent early aging, and may promote weight loss by helping the body process cholesterol. More importantly, fatty acids help to keep our arteries free of cholesterol build up. Fatty Acids assist the adrenal and thyroid glands, which may also help to standardize weight.

Fatty Acids are composed into several types. Everyone has heard of Omega 3 and Omega 6. But many individuals have not been exposed to Omega 9. One of the reasons is Omega 9 can be readily reproduced by our bodies.

Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids can be found in fish and certain plants. Our bodies have no way to produce these two fats. Therefore it is essential that we eat foods that contain Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids or take a natural supplement.  However, it is important to discuss all supplements with your healthcare provider before you begin taking them. 

Our bodies require these Essential fatty acids to maintain healthy lipid levels in the blood. These acids also help regulate our blood pressure and are necessary for proper clotting.  Essential fatty acids help our bodies to control inflammation and our immune system in cases of infection or an injury.
